Kenny – Don't Sweat It!

Hydrate Yes – Sugar No

75% of people are dehydrated. Aside from being thirsty, dehydration can show up as having low energy or brain fog.

Thankfully, rehydrating properly with water plus electrolytes along with nutrients that drive electrolytes into cells is easier than ever. PVL PROH2O uses amino acids to help carry electrolytes into the cells, not sugar like many of the leading selling brands.

And that’s not all, PVL PROH2O evaluated 60 popular hydration products only to find 58 of them came up short. These products did not provide CLINICALLY CORRECT AMOUNTS OF ELECTROLYTES or 4X THE ELECTROLYTES. They also contained sugar, carbs, dyes or synthetic sweeteners and were not amino acid activated.

Clinically Correct

Hydration advice and products are all over the map and 95% of hydration formulas’ electrolyte levels are more hype than they are science based. Clinically correct means proven, properly balanced levels or ratios of all three key electrolytes (sodium, chloride, potassium), plus water to provide complete hydration.
*We reviewed 60 formulas, and at least 95% did not match the W.H.O.’s (World Health Organization) ORS ratio of sodium to potassium (Production of The New ORS; WHO/FCH/CAH/06.1).

PROH2O REHYDRATES FASTER*

For the fastest, most complete oral rehydration solution, your body needs a combination of water + sodium + an active transport ingredient which is typically sugar. PVL PROH2O sticks to the science but has replaced the sugar with a zero-carb amino acid blend that helps with the active transport of the electrolytes.
*Based on data that shows ORS (oral rehydration solution) formulas rehydrate faster than water alone, when in a dehydrated state.

DON'T SWEAT IT!

The World Health Organization has established the optimal sodium-to-potassium ratio for Oral Rehydration Solutions which is 2.3 to 1.* This is a ratio used by healthcare professionals around the world. We are committed to providing the ultimate athlete support by following the science and creating products for complete hydration. PVL PROH2O is also Informed Choice certified meaning it’s third-party tested and safe. Now it’s easy, and delicious, to hydrate right.

PVL PROH2O contains 5 Key Electrolytes:
- Sodium
- Potassium
- Chloride
- Muscle-Signaling Calcium
- Anti-Cramping Magnesium

Plus:
- 5 Energizing B Vitamins
- High Potency Antioxidant Vitamin C
*PVL® PROH2O™ when taken at the clinical dose of 1 scoop per 250ml delivers 430 mg sodium and 190mg potassium per 250 ml which matches W.H.O.’s ORS ratio and level of sodium and potassium per 250ml (WHO/FCH/CAH/06.1).

At PVL, we define clinically correct as a formula that is based in science. PVL PROH2O is formulated with electrolytes (sodium, chloride and potassium) that are proven effective for oral rehydration solutions (ORS).  We researched over 60 popular hydration products and were shocked to find that only two were close to following the ORS guidelines for a complete hydration product.* Our formula is clinically correct because it matches the ORS recommended levels and ratios of the three key electrolytes.

*W.H.O.’s ORS ratio of sodium to potassium (WHO/FCH/CAH/06.1).

Water Hydrates. Water + Sodium + Sugar Hydrates Faster.

Since 1964 research has shown the human body has a glucose-sodium ‘pump’:

This 'pump' is activated by sugar + sodium which means it actively transports fluid AND electrolytes to the bloodstream faster than water alone 1,2,3,4. The WHO's clinical ORS formula (oral rehydration solution) is water sodium + glucose (+ smaller amounts of potassium). But we've cracked the code, on how to do this sugar free by adding amino acids to efficiently transport electrolytes.

Sodium matters because when you sweat, your body loses sodium, and PVL PROH2O uses the right amount of sodium consistent with the World Health Organization’s ORS recommendations.Additionally, PVL reviewed multiple studies and data points to identify the optimum sodium level.  Sodium, typically lost due to sweat, can range between 125 mg to 430 mg per 1 cup (250 ml) of sweat. PVL PROH2O delivers 430 mg of sodium per serving which is in the upper range of sodium concentration for effective rehydration.

SALTS: PRODUCTION OF THE NEW ORS; WHO/FCH/CAH/06.1

Many look to limit or reduce their carbs or their sugars. And sugar is typically used in ORS formulas to help activate the transport of the fluid and electrolytes (minerals). Many leading-selling hydration products use a combination of water + glucose (sugar)+ sodium to hydrate faster and better.

Today though, many people don’t want added sugars or carbs in their diet. Taking the sugar out though, reduces the activate transport potential.  We simply replaced the sugar with other active transport nutrients. Some studies show that certain amino acids – especially L-glutamine – can help activate that transport. In fact, just one of these key aminos was shown in a study to “promote the absorption of sodium and water, even more effectively than glucose.”* PROH2O went that extra step to make a sugar free electrolyte mix, complete with a glutamine based amino acid mix – all of which is designed to help with ‘active transport’ without adding sugar.

When it comes to rapid rehydration, sodium is first, then potassium and chloride. This is where most commercial electrolyte formulas stop. But PVL PROH2O is formulated for performance athletics so we added two more mission-critical electrolytes that can help maximize performance goals. Calcium which helps ‘fire up’ signals to your working muscles plus magnesium, the mineral electrolyte for mind-muscle connection that can help with anti-cramping. This is one of the reasons why PROH2O is more complete.

If you suffer from muscle cramps, you may need more than the three main electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride). Your body may need magnesium which is used by the body in over 600 actions. Magnesium is also trusted by many for its ability to help calm the over-stimulation of muscle and reduce cramping

The clinical ORS formula requires a clean pure source of sodium chloride, commonly known as salt. Table salt is a form of sodium chloride that typically adds iodide. PVL PROH2O uses sodium chloride derived from sea salt that is harvested from red algae which has been shown to contain over 50 trace minerals. That’s even more minerals for your body to absorb to benefit your athletic performance goals.
